According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, plumbers, which are included in their statistics for pipelayers, pipefitters and steamfitters, career opportunities are projected to grow by 16% through 2018. That means that more than 600,000 people will be employed as plumbers or in one of the related occupations. *
