You’ve seen them in just about every fitness center; old-school exercise “app”aratus. Treadmills, circuit machinery, stationary bikes and the like have all been as much cornerstones of the health and wellness industry as Fitness and exercise career professionals and personal trainers themselves. But now, thanks to smartphone technology there are a bevy of smartphone apps that are assisting fitness professionals and their clients alike.

An infographic recently developed by market research firm Lab42 titled Let's Get Physical and Digital, illustrates that 33% of smartphone owners polled use apps to track fitness and food regimens with another 31% doing the same on websites. And, a whopping 75% are sharing their fitness progress on Facebook.
